The frick museum, pittsburgh, pa
November, 2022: Mad Agnes was commissioned by the Frick Pittsburgh, PA to write a song based on the exhibit, American Perspectives: Stories from the American Folk Art Museum Collection. After receiving a preview of the art exhibition in advance, we wrote a song, “Plum Tavern,” based on 4 pieces in the exhibit. We then traveled to Pittsburgh and spent 2 full days collaborating with the videographer to produce this video, and also performed a set of our original music in the museum auditorium.
dewees island, sc
January, 2024: Mad Agnes was commissioned by the Island of Dewees, SC to create a music video for the Island. We spent 5 days on the island where we heard stories from residents and walked in nature, documenting our time with pictures and videos. We were cared for so sweetly by Pam & Bill Duncan, our hosts. Upon returning home, we wrote and recorded this song and assembled this video. An earlier version exists as a work in progress. This one is the finished version, complete with harmony vocals and added instrumentation.
